Our experience tells us that newcomers to a 12-Step Program who find a sponsor sooner rather than later have the best chance of success in their recovery.
Ultimately, finding a sponsor in your own community, with whom you can meet in person, is the best possible scenario. However, until you are able to do that, a temporary sponsor can help guide your early progress, and we can help you find that person.
Experience suggests that it is best for men to sponsor men, women to sponsor women. This custom usually helps our members stay focused on their program. Some gay men and lesbians feel an opposite-sex sponsor is more appropriate for similar reasons.
If you are interested in being paired with a temporary sponsor, please send an email to:
Please indicate your gender identity and your primary 12-Step program, so that we can recommend an appropriate match.
